About
the Design
Where are they now? People and places from our city’s
past come to life on this dinosaur. Newspaper stories and
photos remind us of downtown buildings, neighborhood spots,
historic events, and sports heroes, all of which helped to
shape Pittsburgh into what it is today. This dinosaur prompts
more than a little conversation among people of all ages.
Shirley
Yee, director of graphic design at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh,
led the project in conjunction with several artists from the
school. Students affectionately call this Stegosaurus
“Lola.” She is a dinosaur with stories well seasoned
by the passing of time.
