About the Design

As a costume designer, Anderson has approached this project considering the innate character/shape of the dinosaur and relating it to interesting and unique qualities of Pittsburgh. She believes the presentation of these dinosaurs is inherently theatrical; therefore, it should catch the audience's eye, amuse them, and give them something to think about. In addition to film, television, and stage work, Anderson has often done mascots and fantasy costumes. She claims that painting dinosaurs Sold!is very similar and easier since the model doesn't fidget around!

This bright presentation includes painting and 3D pieces. The hat, wig bow, and boot tops are vinyl; the wig is brown rope glued on in strands; the trim is metallic silver braid; all topped off with buttons. T rex would also have looked lovely in this outfit, based on the Washington portrait!
